Leading the petrochemical industry in Southeast Asia, IPRC’s new Headquarters reflects its position of excellence.

The layout of the complex drew inspiration from the chemical structure of petroleum. A cluster of 6 buildings radiating from a hexagonal center courtyard clearly conveys the company’s identity as a leader in the field of petrochemicals. This configuration minimizes the distance between each building, facilitating convenient workplace interaction. The proximity of the buildings also enables the building services to be efficiently connected and supports the option of phasing construction.

In addition, the design aims for energy efficiency, especially minimizing solar heat gain within the building while still employing the use of natural light. An inverted trapezoid shape, with a slope angle calculated to offer the best sun-protection for the location and orientation of the project, ensures that the interior of the building is shaded by the roof for most of the day while providing natural light to areas as required. Light shelves along the façade not only minimizes the building's exposure to direct sunlight but also serve to reflect light deep into the building.
