retailfacade design

Seacon Square is the largest and most well-known shopping mall in the suburbs of west Bangkok. The 20-year-old fashion mall with large facade of over 500 meters was in need of a facelift.

This once suburban mall has become a city mall due to Bangkok’s rapid expansion and development. The architect’s intent was to replace the old image of the mall by redesigning a new interactive facade with colorful wall pixels and a modern, glass curtain wall hung from the existing structure.

Random colorful pixels flow from one end of the façade to the other, creating a sense of amusement and lively movement, easily attracting customers from the main street. The new rebranding of the mall totally changed the perception of its customers.

LED lighting creates an exciting nighttime mood and a celebratory theme for any occasion. With such a large façade, the architect focused on the design of each entrance, preserving the continuity with color pixels spread all over the front elevation.

A playful fountain emerges from the ground of the entrance plaza and the main central entrance is emphasized with a large glass canopy and frame of colored, perforated steel pixel-panels welcoming everyone.
